A recent study has identified the three biggest climate change threats to the UK’s only World Heritage Site, St Kilda. It’s the Home to thousands of seabirds, including one of the world’s largest northern gannet colonies.

The report highlights rising land and sea temperatures, frequent severe storms, and changing ocean currents as major risks to St Kilda’s natural heritage.

Accordingly to Dr. Mairi Davies of Historic Environment Scotland these trends reflect broader patterns of accelerated deterioration at Scottish heritage sites due to climate change and extreme weather.
