New Environmental Partnership Between Prince Albert II Foundation and Gere Foundation

The day after the gala at the Salle Garnier of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo marking the 20th anniversary of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco), Vice President Romain Ciarlet signed a memorandum of understanding with Ana Buitrago, president of The Gere Foundation.

A new agreement for environmental and planetary health

The agreement “paves the way for collaboration between the two organizations, in support of environmental protection and planetary health,” the Prince Albert II Foundation said.

Earlier, Prince Albert II received Richard Gere at the Prince’s Palace to discuss potential joint projects arising from the agreement.

Gere also provided an update on his Sierra A Mar initiative in Mexico, which “brings together local communities, government agencies, real estate developers, and visionary leaders to establish new global standards inspired by nature and designed to regenerate ecosystems.“

Network and connections for sustainability

“Our two foundations share the conviction that compassion and responsibility must translate into concrete action,” Gere said.

“I am delighted to see our organizations embark on this new chapter together, exploring how our experience, networks, and shared concerns can help protect the planet and build a more sustainable future.”

Gere’s documentary, Wisdom of Happiness, an intimate cinematic encounter with the Dalai Lama, was screened on Saturday at the Princess Grace Theatre
