Clini: “Cop21 is a turning point but it is not enough”

Corrado Clini, from Italia Oggi

On the italian newspaper Italia Oggi, the former italian environment minister Corrado Clini writes about the COP21. “Galletti was enthusiastic about the agreement that has been reached in Paris knowing that no one will keep the commitments.

Clini says: “Someone should explain to citizens how governments will limit the global warming of an half a degree. According to the International Energy Agency, it means that by the 2040 the bearing of fossil fuels on mondial energy consumption decreases from the current 80% to 50%. This is a mission impossible, given that by the 2040 the energy supply will increase of 35%”
